Starting at 9:00 on Saturday, March 18th, the Uniontown Amateur Radio Club is the place to be for those interested in this trending topic. We’ll cover System Fusion, D-STAR and DMR in depth, plus present an overview on NXDN, P25 and TETRA.

Our seminar leader will be Cory Sickles, WA3UVV, Emergency Communications columnist for “CQ” and Digitally Speaking columnist for “The Spectrum Monitor” magazines. Cory will take us through the beginnings of DV radio and touch on all of the methodologies available to hams, focus in on the most popular options and cover many of the radios that are available. Plus, ways to inexpensively establish a new repeater (that supports multiple methodologies) or upgrade an existing one will be covered.

In addition, we’re planning hands-on demonstrations, plus repeater “show and tell” sessions. We’ll also cover the advantages that DV can give us in EMCOMM and public service applications. Q&A will run as long as necessary.
Coffee and breakfast will be served and attendance is free. However, seating is limited, so you need to reserve a space by sending an email with the subject line “WPA DV Seminar Reservation” to WA3UVV@gmail.com.
The Uniontown Amateur Radio Club is located at 433 Old Pittsburgh Road, Uniontown, PA 15401 – the same location as their annual “Gabfest”.
